At HairSpa our beautiful, well-appointed salon is ready! Ready! Ready! - where the focus is on our craft, hair and scalp health, client connection, quality and team alliance.

We are looking for a passionate highly experienced hairdresser who takes pride in what they do and is looking to enjoy their working day. More of the hair, less of the drama.

HairSpa is not a big chain, so no corporate watchdog here. Our community shopping centre location brings us beautiful clients, from busy mums, lucky teenagers, happy retirees and all in between.

We treat our clients like visitors to our home. They want great results, good advice, a good chance for a chat, quality products and value for money.

We proudly use O&M ammonia, PPD and resorcinol-free colour, also available in ammonia free lightener. Better for our clients and much better for you – clear air and super low risk of allergies from the daily exposure of the standard brands. If you have not used this brand, don’t worry about changing, we will support you and you will never look back.

About the role

Permanent part-time approx. 30hrs a week over 4-5 days preferred but will consider full-time.

Most Saturdays required with a min of 5hrs.

At least one weekday to 5 pm in winter and 9 pm in summer, but no 9 am to 9 pm (unless you want to).

We have clients and bookings waiting, plus a fully optimised marketing plan ready for us to push the button. HairSpa just needs you to take those bookings and make those clients ours.

Your week will be a mix of;

Precision cuts and styling
Regrowth and all over colouring
One to three foil transformations a day, depending on your working hours
Some quality hair and scalp treatments
Quality consults and product chats with your clients
Before and after photos, a bit of filming and social media posts
A bit of reception and cleaning, but if you are busy, the owner will jump on to that
Building on your skills and work happiness with training, discussions and changes that actually get made and followed through on
Drinking tea or coffee (real coffee machine) while chatting about your life with your work mates because not every day is busy – but when it is we keep up the pace.

What we're looking for

Strong cutting skills across the full range of styles, extra points for curly hair skills
Proficiency in styling for all occasions – want to grow in this area? Don’t be shy to say
All-round colour and foiling skills
Excellent client communication, consultation and retail skills

Someone interested in how to get better results and satisfied clients with pre colour treatments
A collaborative, positive attitude and genuine love for the craft.

Salon assistant on busy days, so minimal, if any basin work

Ongoing education and product training opportunities.

The critical details

Certificate III in Hairdressing, or Australian certified for Overseas qualifications
Newly qualified is fine if you are ready to fly
Immediate start available, or within 2 weeks of acceptance
Full Australian work rights required, sorry but no sponsorship at this time
